Opt In Policy

We/Us – LPS Events
You must read through and accept the Opt In Policy for the events which LPS Events hold. If you do not opt in, you will not be sent any event correspondance or marketing information.
In line with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for us to send you emails and information you are required to 'opt in'.
By choosing to opt in, you consent to us to sending you information relating to the event you have entered, and future event marketing campaings. Information will mostly be sent via email. If you provide a valid UK mobile number you will recieve a pre race text message with your race number.
If you would prefer not to opt in, we will not send you any information regarding the event and you will be responsible for checking the event page prior to the event. Please note that if we have to relay vital race information this will be emailed to you only if you opt in and uploaded to our social media accounts.
If you miss out on any race details because you have not opted in, LPS Events Ltd will not be held accountable for any details missed or incorrect information.
Please be aware that information will be regularly updated as we get closer to an event, therefor if you download a document 2 weeks prior to an event, this may be updated again 1 week before, for example.
What data do we hold?
Data is held only with LPS Events Ltd. We do not sell or give away data to any other company.
LPS Events Ltd collect the following data in the registration process;
- First name
- Date of birth
- Email address
- Phone number
- NGB affiliation number
- Home county
- Medical conditions
- Emergency contact name & phone number
- Twitter ID
- We only collect your postal address if you require a trophy or medal plaque posted after an event.
For each event the following data is made public in the start list and also in the results, this is available via www.lpsevents.co.uk;
- First name
- Age category - created from a date of birth in line with the NGB
- Club (if assigned).
For each event we share the the following details with our medical team which is sent via email in an encrypted document and destroyed following the event;
- First name
- Date of birth or age
- Medical conditions (if declared)
- Emergency contact name & phone number (if declared).
How do we store information?
So that we can contact you with all the relevent information, we upload data to a bulk email mailing website called mailchimp. We only upload your first name, surname, email address and phone number to here so that we can contact you when we need to.
You are able to update your details or unsubscribe at any time using the links in the footer of the email sent to you. All other details above are securly stored with password protection software.
